40 Danforth Road

As residents in the area will know there have been ongoing issues with the site for some time.  The Councillor’s Office has been working very closely with residents in the community and City staff (Municipal Licensing and Standards, Toronto Building, Transportation Services Right of Way, etc.) to address concerns about this project.  We have now been contacted by a new architect/engineer for the owner of the property who has indicated he is now managing the project.  He has assured City staff and the Councillor that he is going to move this project responsibly to completion.  He is currently having the construction work on the site assessed to determine what action needs to be taken to proceed to completion with the project.  In the meantime issues such as site safety, cleanliness and right of way access (City sidewalks, City boulevard) have been addressed.  He has assured us that these standards will now be maintained going forward.  We are hopeful following these discussions that this project will progress now to completion.  We will continue to work with City staff and residents to ensure that issues do not arise again and to encourage the owners to finish the project as soon as possible.  Residents are encouraged to contact the Councillor’s office if there are any concerns that arise and we will follow up with the new architect/engineer and City staff.
