Garbage Truck Safety Tips For Kids

Solid Waste Management Services (SWMS) has created a new video to remind students in elementary school (Kindergarten through Grade 5, ages 4 – 11) about the hazards and safety practices when they encounter a garbage/recycling collection vehicle in their school zone. This video is part of the Division’s commitment to develop an outreach campaign to educate children on collection vehicles and how to be safe around them.

The three minute video includes safety tips for kids on what to do when they encounter a garbage/recycling collection vehicle in operation on their way to and from school. Click here to watch the safety video.
