Golden Mile Secondary Plan Community Advisory Panel

As you may know, the City of Toronto Planning Division (Scarborough) is undertaking a very thorough review of the current and potential land use along the Golden Mile (Eglinton Avenue East).  This is the result of coming changes, including significantly the Eglinton Crosstown LRT which will soon begin construction along the eastern portion.

As part of this process the City held a full community meeting (11,000 notices were mailed out to residents) in the spring of 2017.  As part of the ongoing process a Local Advisory Committee made up of residents and business owners was formed to work with City staff and consultants.  On September 26th, 2017 the group (on a very hot evening!) conducted a walking tour of the Golden Mile area with Planning staff and consultants.  This is in advance of the regular meetings of the LAC which begin also in September.  The LAC will ensure that our views as a community are made known throughout the Planning review process for the Golden Mile.  There will also be further community consultation meetings that everyone can attend.  Notices will also go out for these full community meetings.

Should you wish additional information or have further questions you can contact City Planning staff (Russell Crooks – 416-396-7040 or via e-mail at Russell.Crooks@toronto.ca) or of course feel free to contact my office.
